This report analyzes the economic and social impacts derived from the lack of sanitation in Nicaragua, and it includes basic information on Nicaragua's sanitation background. It analyses the economic impacts of inadequate sanitation, which causes negative effects on health, water resources, tourism, and other impacts on welfare, accounting for US$ 95 million (2009).
After an individual analysis of each impact, the report presents 6 consequences and offers 4 recommendations to improve sanitation in the country.
