Accordingly, Caritas Switzerland is committed to the human rights, the Sustainable Development Goals and to ensuring that all people, regardless of their race, sex, religion or political persuasion have access to food, water, shelter, health, education and work. Caritas Switzerland works both in Switzerland and abroad in support of the deprived, poor and most vulnerable people, providing emergency relief as well as long-term development support. Thematically, Caritas Switzerland’s work is concentrated on five fields of activity: Food security; water, sanitation and hygiene; human rights, social justice and peace; disaster risk reduction and climate change; and humanitarian aid.
