Technical assistance to the government of India to establish a program management unit for Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) To support the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) (SBM-U), implemented by the Ministry of Urban Development, by providing technical assistance and global best practices in sanitation to improve consumer uptake and delivery of safe sanitation services

The Technical Assistance to assist India's national Ministry of Urban Development (MOUD) is to provide it with the technical and managerial depth needed to implement the SBM-U and the National Urban Sanitation Policy, and increase access to sustainable urban sanitation solutions in India's urban areas.

The technical assistance will support the Ministry in helping state and city governments to plan, implement and manage the provision of these services to their citizens in a safe, cost effective and sustainable manner, across the entire sanitation value chain (safe containment, collection treatment and recycling / reuse as possible). This approach in turn will result in concrete improvements in public and environmental health.
