Webinar #4 Scaling Sustainable Rural Sanitation: Systems that Last, Behaviours that Stick

Agenda | Program

Achieving safely managed sanitation in rural areas requires more than building toilets—it demands systemic change that sustains behaviour and delivers services at scale. This webinar brings together global experts and country voices to explore how governments and partners are moving beyond short-term gains to embed sustainable sanitation services in rural contexts. Drawing from the 2024 Global Sanitation Summit, we’ll spotlight real-world examples from countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America — highlighting market-based approaches, community health promoters, area-wide planning, and post-Open-defecation free (ODF) or safely managed sanitation (SMS) strategies. Participants will gain practical insights into the enablers of long-term success, from governance and financing to behaviour change and local leadership. Join us to learn, share, and reflect on how your country or organization can apply these lessons to accelerate rural sanitation progress towards safely managed practices.
