Wasser im Advent: Bringing Water Out of the Bubble and Across Silos, One Day at a Time

Water is essential to our health, communities, environment, and future. Yet, despite its importance, we often take it for granted. Wasser im Advent (Water in Advent) is a water themed Advent calendar designed to make these connections visible and bring water related topics closer to young people and the wider public.

Together with 22 partner organisations, and funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, the youth initiative explores 24 different perspectives on water starting on December 1st until Christmas. Through short, accessible daily stories, facts, and inspiring ideas, the calendar highlights the issues as well as the people, projects, and solutions that are making a difference in the water sector.
The aim is to make complex global water challenges more relatable and encourage curiosity, awareness, and engagement — especially among young people who may not yet be familiar with the WASH sector.
