Welthungerhilfe - one of the biggest non-governmental aid and development agencies in Germany - campaigns against worldwide hunger and for sustainable food and nutrition security. This involves focusing on site-specific agriculture, access to clean water and sanitation and a modern, environment-friendly energy supply and improving healthcare and education. The core principle of Welthungerhilfe work is “help towards self-help”. With its large and diverse portfolio of activities in the fields of water, sanitation and hygiene, Welthungerhilfe has been implementing emergency-WASH interventions, as well as long-term development WASH-programmes in many developing countries around the world, for five decades.
