The National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition Salvador Zubirán (INCMNSZ, INNSZ) is one of the National Institutes of Health under the Ministry of Health. It is one of the most prestigious medical institutions and scientific assistance in Mexico. At its inception, the Institute was planned as a medical model of care that activities serve as a basis for education and research, thinking that you can only give good care in an academic setting conducive to teaching and scientific research.
THE IEES provides a common forum for diverse persons and groups involved in ecological engineering projects. These include traditional engineers, marine biologists, ecological economists, development workers, and many others. The IEES is a non-profit organisation which seeks to promote contacts between scientists and eco-engineers from different countries and coordinate their activities, improve the cooperation between ecologists and engineers, exchange information in the field of ecological engineering among scientific and educational organisations, private enterprises, non-governmental organisations and governmental bodies.
The Unit performs both research and education, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The main topic is systems and processes for safe recycling of plant nutrients from the city back to the food production, which is an essential part of a sustainable society, both in developed and developing countries. The research is based on systems analysis and process oriented. Important methods in the system analytic research is ”Substance Flow Analysis” (SFA) and ”Life Cycle Analysis” (LCA). The process oriented research is mainly focused on source separating sewage systems, sanitation/hygienisation technology, both for Swedish conditions and conditions in developing countries, and systems in the compost process. The International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA) was created in Geneva in November 2002 following recomendations formulated during the World Summit for Sustainable Development in Johannesburg two months earlier. The mandate called for federation and unification of the disparate rainwater harvesting (RWH) movement around the world. In partnership with the most eminent organisations and individuals in the field, the IRHA provides a lobbying and advocacy platform for RWH. It supports the growth of RWH solutions to water supply problems.
