If this technology can be implemented in a financially sustainable model it will help lower the quantity of fecal sludge that ends up in the drinking water supply. These funds would build on the positive results from the Phase I study, looking at converting fecal waste into a fuel oil, that could be either blended into crude oil, combusted directly or further processed into a vehicle fuel (estimated at $3/gallon).
