SFD (Level 2) Report - Siddhicharan Municipality Nepal Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) (2024)

Siddhicharan Municipality is situated in Okhaldhunga District of Koshi Province of Nepal. It is divided into 12 wards and covers an area of 167.88 sq. km. It was established in May 2014 and was reformed in March 2017. It was reformed by merging 6 Village Development Committees (VDCs) namely Taluwa, Thulachhap, Jantankhani, Baruneshwor, Bigutar and Betini with former Siddhicharan Municipality. It ranges from 27°06ʹ00ʺ to 27°31ʹ60ʺ N latitude, 86°09ʹ60ʺ to 86°31ʹ60ʺ E longitude and at an average altitude of 1,841 meters above mean sea level (msl) (Siddhicharan Municipality, 2024).

A population of 27,351 is residing in 7,126 households in the municipality (National Statistics Office, 2023) .

The SFD graphic shows that excreta generated from 88% of the population is safely managed while 12% of the population is unsafely managed. However, safely managed FS generated from 88% of population is temporary as the FS has not been emptied. The proportion of safely managed FS will soon become unsafely managed once the containments start filling up.
