Short description of the project: The focus of the project has been to improve the access of marginal and at risk communities, living in unauthorized and under-served settlements, to sanitation services through constructive engagement with government spearheaded by Women’s Forums in Delhi, Jaipur and Kolkata. Goals and objectives: Enable government mandated community structures to play a pro-active role in bringing about behavior change amongst 30 % of the total population across these three cities. Simultaneously, use the Convergence Program spearheaded by Mission Convergence, the State Water and Sanitation Mission and Urban Livelihood Mission to scale up sanitation services for poor and unauthorized settlements with specific focus on vulnerable populations such as women, girls and marginal communities.
