Renewable Energy Sources for Rural Water Supply fkes, E.H. & Visscher, J.T. (1986)

The potential of using renewable energy sources (solar energy, wind energy, hydropower, biomass energy) to power water pumping systems for rural water supply is receiving increased attention. Assessment and selection of these
energy sources and pumping systems require careful analysis of a wide range of factors. This book provides guidance and information to support the systematic consideration of renewable energy sources and devices for rural supply
pumping. In Part I (Chapters 1-3), the various factors to be considerd and the selection methodology to be followed in energy sources assessment and pumping system selection are discussed. In Part II (Chapters 4-8), state-of-the art information on the technology of solar pumps, wind pumps, hydro-powered pumps, and pumping systems using biomass energy are presented.
