RTI International RTI

RTI International is an independent, nonprofit institute that provides research, development, and technical services to government and commercial clients worldwide. Our mission is to improve the human condition by turning knowledge into practice.

RTI is the implementing partner of the Sanitation Technology Platform (STeP), funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). STeP helps transformative sanitation technologies reach the 4.5 billion people worldwide who don't have access to safely managed sanitation by de-risking and accelerating innovative sanitation solutions. We help technology developers, commercial partners, and financing partners develop strong business models, field test products in real-world contexts, and identify and nurture the partnerships needed to achieve impact.

RTI also implements the Nigeria Effective Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (E-WASH) project, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Under this project, we expect to improve water delivery to 500,000 households by boosting the productivity and efficiency of State Water Boards (SWBs). Read more on our project page.
